People who only know his later country stuff are missing a lot. I saw him at a Bread & Roses concert in Berkeley. He drank so much wine he couldn't remember the words to his own songs; but, that didn't effect his performance quality.
He said, "Hey, I'm only here to make you people feel superior!" Funny!
